Two Greek Medals at the 2nd ISAPS Olympiad 2025 in Singapore

Dr. Evangelos Keramidas and Dr. Villy Rodopoulou won the Gold Oral Communication Award and the Bronze Poster Discussion Award, respectively, representing our country at one of the premier international scientific events in Aesthetic Surgery, held in Singapore from June 18 to 21, 2025.

Gold Distinction for Dr. Evangelos Keramidas

The Greek Plastic Surgeon was awarded the Gold Oral Communication Award in the “Non-Surgical: Injectables” category for his work titled: “Mathematics Guiding to Safe and Ideal Aesthetic Results in Lip Augmentation: The Ph(Φ)eidias Technique.”

Dr. Keramidas impressed the audience by presenting a pioneering lip augmentation technique based on the mathematical proportion of Phi (Φ), which guarantees safe and natural results, avoiding excesses and complications.

As he stated: “The Step by Step Φ Technique honors the natural contour and volume without excess. This dual honor—especially since my wife was also awarded—deeply moves me. I dedicate this to our patients who trust us every day.”

Dr. Keramidas had previously won a bronze medal in 2023 at the 1st ISAPS Olympiad in Athens for his technique in correcting tubular breasts.

Dr. Villy Rodopoulou: Combining Art and Surgery

Dr. Villy Rodopoulou won the Bronze Poster Discussion Award in the “Other Surgical/Presentation” category for her presentation titled: “How Art Ideas Could Diffuse Into Medicine and the Importance of Sophisticatedly Naming Our Techniques.”

Dr. Rodopoulou highlighted the role of artistic inspiration in the surgical technique “Greek lines,” which pertains to abdominoplasty, and the importance of nomenclature for the scientific acceptance and communication of innovative methods.

As she mentioned during the award ceremony: “My work represents a fusion of Art and Surgery. The correct name—not just any name—defines/describes a technique. It is not just a detail—it is a scientific tool. This award confirms the importance of reflection and creativity in the development of our field, and we were deeply satisfied with receiving this medal.”

What Do These Distinctions Mean for Greece?

Dr. Keramidas’ precise technique and innovation bring forward the mathematical approach to aesthetic medicine, with measurable and safe protocols.

Dr. Rodopoulou’s approach opens new avenues for scientific thought and artistic influence in medical practice.

Their work stood out among 600 presentations from 90 countries, was evaluated by an international committee, and was featured as “elite” in the ISAPS Journal.

What is the ISAPS Olympiad?

The 2nd ISAPS Olympiad establishes a new format for high-level scientific conferences with strict participant selection, peer-review evaluations, and interactive learning. At this year’s conference in Singapore, 1,400 delegates and 80 top speakers participated, offering a rich platform for scientific exchange and networking.
